| Company Profile | Cochin Exports Pvt.Ltd. the Flagship Company of the Cochin Export Group was incorporated on 13 July 1989 by a group of NRIs. Self-made individuals specialized in respective professional and business arena. As the name stands for, the main object of the Company was to explore the possibilities of Export trade under the leadership of Mr. K.R. Ramdas who was an 'Export genius' at the age of 40 widely traveled on the Global Market, assisted by Mr.P.G.Sadasivan Pillai and Mr.V.V.Krishna Kumar. Unfortunately, the Group lost its leading personality. Mr.Ramdas in February 1991 due to an ailment followed by Kidney transplantation. By that time, the Group identified the potential of distribution of genuine automobile spares in Kerala State with the help of friends and well wishers. The humble beginning of the automobile spare parts distribution was started in August 1989.
The products like DD/PMP/Purolator/Clutch Auto and Jai Parabolic Springs etc. were the initial products, which helped the Company to win the confidence among the dealers.
In August 1995, the Company has ventured into C&F agency business. Total Petroleum India Ltd., Cochin Depot handled by the Co. is one of the leading and professionally managed C & F in the country today with an inviable turnover among the new multinational brands launched in India in recent years.
In October '96, the company has opened a branch in Calicut to provide better services to the Malabar Region. At present, the branch alone enjoys the support of about 500 customers in the Region.
The Group has started its second Company under the name & style of CEL Marketing Pvt.Ltd. in December 1995. Gradually the Company has added combinations of mechanical and electrical spares to suit the requirements of the automobile replacement market. Today CEL Marketing is well footed in the Kerala automobile spares market with strong support of 800-dealer network, above 10 principals and sizeable manpower.
Kerala being an agro-based state, the Group has floated CEL Plantations Pvt.Ltd. in 1996 looking at the potential in the area of plantation and related business.
Cochin Exports Group is committed to service its valuable customers with the strong backing of the principals, dedicated services of the employees and support of its shareholders.
The functioning of the Group is headed by Mr.P.G.S.Pillai and Mr.V.V.K.Kumar in Ernakulam and Mr.Abdul Azeez in Calicut.
